iPhone Music Apps

Posted on: 29, Apr

The iPhone application revolution has become the face of new technology in many more ways than one. Whenever a new invention is released, it is often followed by many smaller ’spin-off’ ideas, which accumulate into other new useful releases as well. Most of the time, combining a pre-existing technology to the new invention does the trick.

In this case, the Apple iPhone is the new technology and the other is music. Apple created an amazing phone, a phone that many feel is ahead of its time. The top mobile phones don’t even come close to what the iPhone is capable of. Google has recently released the G1, their answer to the iPhone. Sadly, it is not match. Google has even opened an app development market similar to Apple, but it will not prove to be as successful.Cell phones have been around for well over a decade and music for eons. But put them both together and you have an invention that is undeniably a trademark of the 21st century.

Combine cell phones with music and the internet and you’ve struck gold! This combination is widely being used in ways never before seen. But the iPhone now takes this even one step further. Today, artists can use the iPhone for promoting their music as well as their music videos. But it doesn’t stop there, Artists can not only generate revenue from the sale of a song, but they can create an app that showcases unique content about their music. Dedicated music lovers would purchase the app just because they love the artist so much. And that’s something that has never been done before in history.

Artists are using this revolutionary tool to spread their message, every way imaginable. One up and coming rock band, called Snow Patrol, has created an iPhone application - which showcases the lyrics of their newest album A Hundred Million Suns by sifting through interactive origami-like packages.

Other more established artists such as Nine Inch Nails are releasing iPhone applications, which feature the lead singer Trent Reznor’s hand-picked favorite songs from the last 2 albums jam-packed into one iPhone application.

The list of artists currently taking advantage of this incredible opportunity is quite short today but will be ultimately endless by next year’s end. With every album launch, public relation companies and marketing companies should collaborate to put together an application dedicated to the new album release. There is an unlimited amount of apps they could make if they realize the huge potential in iPhone apps. A study recently surfaced that rated the iPhone as the number one selling mobile phone in the world. The runner up was the razor which held first place for roughly three years. I’m sure we all remember the razor, upon its release it was the thinnist phone on the market. But, times have changed and so has technology. Apple has gone above and beyond the razor, and it is easy to see why the iPhone is regarded as the best in its class.

One website featuring this opportunity is AppCraver.com - the web’s leading iPhone application news and reviews site, dedicated to featuring the best and latest additions to the iPhone application world. AppCraver has some of the best app reviews I have seen on the web. Most other app review sites don’t even write their own reviews, they just pull their information from other sources.

It seems like i never go a week without chatting with someone who asks, “So how much do you sell your rings for?”
I reply, “Oh, a tungsten carbide wedding band like yours is $99 on our website. How much did you pay?”
Usually they don’t even want to say, but it’s almost always about $300 to $400. They’ve been duped by the jeweler in the mall or on the corner of Main Street. So how do you avoid getting ripped off when shopping in an industry that has one of the highest markups on the planet Earth? I suggest the following guidelines.

#1 - If a deal is too good to be true, it’s too good to be true. I can’t believe people are thinking they found the deal of the century when they buy a “genuine” Rolex online for $68 only to be floored when they take it into a real Rolex shop to find out it’s not the same as the $8500 one behind the glass. Come on people!

#2 - Check out the Better Business Bureau at www.bbb.org to check the validity of the company. Even if a company is not accredited it will still show if they have had any complaints in the last year. I NEVER buy anything online anymore without checking the BBB first. If a company doesn’t list themselves on there, don’t you think it might be for a reason?

#3 - Testimonials saying, “I was so satisfied with the customer service of company x because they took care of me and the product was wonderful and I want them to marry my first born daughter and blah, Blah, BLAH,” are a load of bunk. People just don’t write this type of thing very often, and if they do, it’s probably because they were asked to. How are you ever going to verify that Lisa from Westchestertonfieldville, Iowa really wrote that anyway?

#4 - Click on their security certificate. Simple Simon. Is it from a company you recognize or can verify on Google? When you’re entering your credit card information does it say https:// instead of http://? (The “s” stands for secure).

#5 - Call the phone number listed. If there is no phone number or someone answers speaking Swahili, good luck. You’ve been warned.

#6 - Try out there customer response email. Is their email address joecoxhulahips at fake email dot com or is it service@weddingringsforever.com, (or something else legit)?

#7 - Don’t buy from the first place you see unless you’re happy paying a higher price knowing it’s EXACTLY what you want. What ever happened to comparison shopping? I always feel sorry for those couples I see drive away with a new car from the first lot they stopped at.

#8 - Internet sales are usually just a marketing ploy. What you find is a good deal today will still be a good deal tomorrow. Don’t be afraid to sleep on it. Sales never end, they just change shape and form.

#9 - MSRP is a scam. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price is usually founded upon a survey, not what people are actually willing to pay. Anyone can go around and eventually find some crack head willing to pay $295 for a pair of sneakers that just cost $2 to import from China. At Wedding Rings Forever we only use list price comparisons, and they’re actually based upon other prices we find our competitors selling the same products for. You may look at the list prices and say, “That’s ridiculous.” It is beyond me how people can charge so much and still sleep at night. You usually end up paying for their commercials, advertising, commercial building lease, and other overhead that we’ve been able to avoid.

#10 - Number 10 could be a whole other slew of reasons but I will just sum is up with BE SMART. If you have to enter your Social Security Number to buy a blouse, is that smart? If you agree to help the Prince of Nigeria wire 8 billion dollars to his bank in Omaha to help his dying sister, is that smart? If someone contacts you asking for all your personal information rather than you seeking that product out, is that smart? I would expect more from the savvy internet generation we live in.

Well, there it is! Good luck and happy shopping. Remember that the most important part of the wedding band is not the band at all, but rather who is wearing it and how it symbolizes love for one another.

With the lineup for California’s biggest country music festival just announced, it looks like its third annual event will be its biggest ever. With headliners that include Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, Reba McEntire and Kid Rock making the list of initial performers, Stagecoach Country Music Festival tickets are already going to be hard to come by with more than four months to go!

Performing for the third time at Indio, California’s Empire Polo Club this April, the event will not only house some of the best country music, but also some of the nation’s best Bar-B-Que and more festival events that will get your riled up for some amazing guitar strumming and boot kickin’! Just because Californian’s are surrounded by the beauty of the ocean and the mountains doesn’t mean that they can’t enjoy a little hootenanny - and with the biggest stars set to headline the event this year, the liberals on the west coast are sure to peel off their yearly-worn sandals and throw on some cowboy boots for an event like this. Country fans tired of their friends bragging about little known (to them) bands performed at Coachella, the Stagecoach Country Music Festival is the counterpart to the rock scene and will be every bit as exciting. Check out http://www.stubhub.com/stagecoach-country-music-festival-tickets/ today to get your own tickets.

The lineup for 2009 was listed on Stagecoach’s website, which also includes Miranda Lambert, Earl Scruggs, Ricky Skaggs, Jerry Jeff Walker, Reverend Horton Heat, Little Big Town, Poco, The Charlie Daniels Band, Darius Rucker (from Hootie and the Blowfish), Lynn Anderson, Dale Watson, Chris Cagle, Lady Antebellum, Ralph Stanley, Doyle Lawson, The Peter Rowan Bluegrass Band, Danielle Peck, The Zac Brown Band, The Duhks, Waddie Mitchell, Randy Houser, Hot Club of Cowtown and James Intveld.

The event is a rodeo of California’s country fans of sorts, complete with a mechanical bull, activities for the kids via the Half-Pint Hootenanny kids area and an expansion for all those RV’s that roll in. The festival, put together by Coachella company Goldenvoice, was expanded last year to three days when the Eagle’s made a last minute performance for a bonus day. The Eagles headlined a day all to themselves after their Grammy win for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group for “How Long” just weeks prior to the event. This year is set to remain at two, but with all the country cancellations that have been occurring as of late, who knows what will happen to the all star lineup as the months pass. Last year the attendance doubled what it was from the year previous (aka its debut year) from 55,000 to 120,000, with headliners that included Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Trace Adkins, Dierks Bentley, Big & Rich, Dwight Yoakam, George Jones and a reunion of The Judds.

AEG also puts on the event with Goldenvoice, another player in the original Coachella mixture. The music man behind all of AEG’s success, Chuck Morris, recently talked to media outlets about plans for a new festival for 2010. The company, which throws down Coachella followed by Stagecoach just a week apart, could add another “drawing board,” according to the Denver Post, stamp for AEG either the week before or after the Mile High Music Festival with yet another genre bending festival.

Metal bands included. Any decade, just no rap or hannah montana/jonas brothers crap.

For me, I don’t really know but I tend to like the ones that don’t use flash on the whole thing. I like the basic, fast loading, well designed basic layout.

Gov’t Mule. Has tour info, merchandise, news, bios, links and you can download all of their past live concerts. What more could you ask for?

Though plenty of engagement rings with variety of designs are accessible in jewelers’ shops, yet they may not create the impression the bride is specially looking for. Your bride-to-be may ask you for a specific carving of the ring which the shops do not have in their line-up of the jewelry products. However, the jewelers also design the engagement rings as per the customers’ specifications.

You must ensure some basic steps before asking the jeweler to design the ring. First of all, go through the  engagement rings pictures and see how they look. Compare the design on the top of the ring and the carvings on the metal bands. You must compare lots of rings in order to have a look at the prevailing and traditional trends. Pick up the paper and pencil and try to draw the design you have in mind. Consult your bride as she will give you hints over her liking of the ring. Keep in mind her life style and choice regarding the jewelry while deciding over the specifications of the diamond engagement ring.

When it comes to choosing a diamond, its cut, clarity, color and carat size matters the most. Cost can also be a guiding factor in picking up a diamond for the engagement ring. for instance, if a budget ring is in your mind, then a diamond with lower carat size and some inclusions in it will be suitable. Still, such a diamond gives the same impression of glitter to the onlookers. Simple cuts will also lower the prices to larger extent. For a less costly ring, you can opt for other stones such as opals, sapphires and rubies.

Settings for the engagement ring are vital to designing of engagement rings. A channel setting allows for free flow of the stones within a channel, especially to the round stones. This gives extra security to the stones, apart from a unique line of stones for special impression. Prong setting provides for a tight grip over the diamond, and becomes dominant on the ring. Bezel settings protect the stones even more as a tight collar is placed around them. These setting are capable of giving the engagement ring a special look.

Once the specifications of the engagement ring of your choice are in place, you should be shopping for the material. The metal band holds important place in whole of the design. A simple white metal band provides for a less dominant backdrop to highlight the stone on the top of the ring. A gold metal band or excessive carvings on it may somewhat diminish the stone impression and it should be kept in mind while designing the ring.

In these days of internet, designing of engagement rings has become even easier with the help of online tools. Browse a jeweler’s website and you will be guided to the easy steps for online designing of the ring. A major benefit of online shopping and designing over personally visiting of a shop is lower overall costs of the engagement ring as you can compare the diamonds and prices of varieties of designs.

Learn & Master Guitar Review

Posted on: 2, Apr

The Learn and Master Guitar course by Legacy Learning Systems is a very complete guitar instruction classroom on DVD. It comes delivered to your house loaded with information and several different approaches to learning guitar. The first path to learning the guitar is the DVD sessions. These are followed up by workshops and your own practice time. To help fully incorporate the sessions into your consciousness there is also a 107 page workbook to follow with the sessions and jam along CD’s to cement what you’ve learned. With all of this there is also a member’s only web-site where as a Learn and Master Guitar owner you can go and get even more valuable learning information for your guitar playing.

The DVD’s, with 20 sessions in all, are packed with extensive instruction in a setting that is very comfortable and at a very good pace for any guitar player. They are produced very well with a split screen so the student can watch the instructor (Steve Krenz) play his guitar and also see the notes, not only in tablature but also in musical notation. Steve Krenz is a very well spoken and well rounded guitar player. He has played with several recording artist and orchestras and is a working musician in Nashville. The latter alone, as any musician knows is no small feat.

After each session there is workshop time. This is about fifteen minutes of going over what was taught in the session. This is a good feature simply because it focuses your practice. If you end up being short on time you can just go through the workshops and keep yourself up to pace until you have time to sit down for more sessions. There are also sections for guitar knowledge, in these you are told the basics of the guitar, the names and locations of its different parts what they are for and why they are needed. As a musician who also likes to know how and why everything works these little side sections were fantastic.

In addition to the DVD sessions there are also five jam along CD’s. These have the songs learned in the sessions played with a full band and at a variety of tempos. Incorporate these with a metronome and they are really great tools to learn proper beat and strumming techniques. There is no better way to learn to play a song than to play it with a band and at a pace you are comfortable with.

The workbook is in essentially the sessions on paper plus! It is one hundred and seven pages of learning. Legacy definitely put some thought into this complete learning tool. The workbook covers everything in the sessions and allows you to write in notes and do different exercises without the guitar so you may incorporate the lessons with different learning processes to really lock in what is being taught. I really had a feeling of a complete learning experience with the DVD’s, the jam along CD’s, the workshops, the guitar knowledge sections and the workbook.

On top of all of this, with the course you also gain access as a member to the Learn and Master Guitar web-site. There you can take on extra exercises and ask questions on a chat board that can be answered either by your peers or Steve Krenz himself. This is a great added feature for this very effective guitar learning tool.

If you are looking for a DVD guitar lesson that has the best potential to help you obtain your goal, Learn and Master Guitar is your best bet. If you follow the suggested time for each session the course will take you about a year. With proper practice time, about fifteen minutes to a half hour a day, you will be very pleased with the rate of success. Cost to product it is far cheaper than a year of personal lessons! I would highly recommend this course to any of my friends who wanted to learn guitar. I think it’s great!
