Social Marketing Basics

What is Social Media Marketing?

Social Marketing is made up of many different aspects. The important thing to remember is that anyone wanting to earn money online should be prepared to invest the time and effort required to build a genuine business. Using social media should be just one part of your overall traffic-building strategy, not the entire nor the only strategy you incorporate.

I share 4 key components of social marketing below. Learning the basic principles of social marketing and how it works will go a long way in helping you with not only your marketing efforts, but your notoriety and reader retention.

Blogging is Crucial in Social Marketing

Your blog is naturally a social marketing tool. By using good posting strategies, linkbait, clip marks, utility posts, commenting, growing your audience, setting up social widgets, content exchanges or blog carnivals, and social media optimization you will have set a powerful base for your website. The building blocks of social marketing success are one of the critical components to making your online business not only visited more, but critical to your monetary success.

Using Social Sites Properly

Learning the common social site features will enable you to grasp how to use these communities to their highest potential. Creating a powerful profile is very important. Making friends on social sites is just one power networking strategy, along with having others submit respond to, and vote on your content. You also want to understand the rules for each social site so that you don’t get your account banned. Tagging is another critical aspect to your social marketing, and being able to measure your marketing results.

It’s a Conversation, Not a Sales Pitch

Starting conversations is a power strategy. Knowing the Golden Rules of Social Networking will enable you to get maximum views for your social networking, forum activity, and on how to find social networks in your niche. Learning Social Power Linking Strategies will enable you to drive organic traffic to your site, and will provide you with continuous streams of repeat visitors. People who are searching for information in your niche will find you because of the social marketing strategies. Social marketing does many things, it not only puts you in front of those who are in those specific social sites, but because you are creating links, regular followers will come simply because the search engines will notice all your efforts and all the organic traffic that you are creating. This in turn will help you with your search engine rankings.

A System Is Critical To Being Efficient

In order to incorporate these strategies you need a system, a guide, on how to do this effectively and a place where you can share your findings and questions with others. There are several communities where bloggers band together and where social marketing tactics of all kinds are shared and discussed in great detail.

Great free communities to get involved are MyBlogLog.com, BlogCatalog.com, and SocialAuthority.Ning.com. People interested in social marketing and better blogging tactics are working out new social marketing tactics and helping each other progress in busy communities such as these.

Hdtv Antenna Fact Or Fiction

Posted on: 25, Dec

“Buyer Beware” We all have heard this a thousand times, yet many consumers continue to purchase products with false or misleading information. One case in point is the HDTV antenna. Lets separate the facts from the fiction.
FICTION Special TV antennas are necessary to receive the new HDTV/Digital signal.

FACT HDTV/Digital signal is and will broadcast on many of the same channel frequencies that traditional analog television has been broadcasting on for years.
FICTION All HDTV signals will be broadcast on the UHF frequency band.
FACT Nearly every television broadcasting market in the U.S. will have at least one or more VHF and UHF HDTV channels.
FICTION I will need to replace my current TV antenna to receive HDTV.
FACT If your current TV antenna can receive both VHF and UHF TV signals, and is in proper working order, it is unlikely a change will be necessary.
Because of widespread misunderstanding many people will purchase two TV antennas. The first TV antenna will be purchased as an HDTV antenna. This TV antenna will be a UHF TV antenna. The well meaning dealer who sold the antenna thought all HDTV signals would be broadcast on the UHF band.
I believe for the most part this is an honest mistake. All broadcasters are required to broadcast their traditional analog signal until February 2009. At the same time broadcasters are broadcasting their new digital signal. Because of the limited channel space allotted for television broadcasting, most HDTV/Digital channels are temporarily assigned to UHF channels, and will permanently be assigned in February 2009. At this time many of the digital channels currently broadcasting on the UHF will return to the VHF frequency.
The fact of the matter is, there is no difference between a traditional TV antenna and a HDTV antenna. Although some people would like you to think there is, this simply isn’t true.
When choosing your TV antenna, use the same guide lines used for selecting a traditional antenna. Consider the antennas quality, size, range, and how much money you are willing to spend and in most cases be sure the TV antenna is VHF/UHF capable. Remember if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

Badder Adder Review

Posted on: 21, Dec

Myspace marketing is the new thing if you haven’t noticed lately. It is so simple to go and request lots of friends and just start sending mass messages, bulletins, and comments. It is really a great way to start viral marketing.

It is really not that hard at all – and it works. The only problem is adding the friends and sending messages, comments, and bulletins takes a damn long time if you do it by hand.

I am a programmer myself and I was planning on making my own tool for it because I had used 2 other Myspace friend adder programs and they were garbage.

However, being in a mastermind group I found out about a launch of a new product called Badder Adder by Michelle MacPhearson.

So, I figured I’d go try it out since there was a free demo. That’s where I started to get upset. I started the Badder Adder demo and the program never came up on the screen.

So I started reading around on some forums about it and I found out that I had to start closing off some of my other programs to make it work.

It turned out the culprit was AOL Instant Messenger! Right when I closed AIM the program loaded up fine. (As of October 26, 2006 this bug has been fixed and I can use AIM at the same time…)

Right out of the box Badder Adder worked like a charm. Following Michelle’s easy instructional videos I started adding around 300 friends to each of 10 Myspace accounts that I had created. By the morning I had a new total of 1400 friends and only 12 hours had gone by (people might not have logged in yet…)

That is 1200 new people that I selected from niche markets that I can sell items to, promote a band to, promote a website, anything. Quick tip: Use an attractive female on your Myspace profiles, the friend requests accept rate goes up substantially.

Anyway, being a programmer I normally don’t recommend anyone else’s programs because I would just make them myself – and better…however Michelle’s Badder Adder is definitely one exception.

I would recommend that you send less than 300 friend requests per account per day on Myspace. Myspace frowns upon the use of bots to add more friends but people still do it however. If you stay under the 300 limit your account should stay in good standing.

Hello. At first, I’m new here, great forum. Good topics you have here and music topics.

I’m making website about singers and bands, it is community site or social network site for singers and bands.

Can you help me and tell me what would you like this site to have.
I thought of: Little forum, community profile, adding pics and videos.

YOu are singers or you have your own band you know the best what do you need to promote your self, so please tell me what do you need on site?

As a web-site designer and a musicker I hope I’m being helpfull.
A web-site needs to be clean, without a lot of blurry images and moving advertisements, it needs to be cool to,

AND… you have to insure song protection, no ones going to want their music to be stolen or anything like that.

If you can do that; then you’ve got it made.

Meeting People on MySpace

Posted on: 18, Dec

The process of meeting people on MySpace is extremely easy. MySpace is an online community which encourages individuals from all over the world to become involved and create an online profile. Members are able to create a MySpace website which they can use to provide others with information about them. Members are also encouraged to view the websites belonging to other members to learn more about other members of the community.

Those who participate in MySpace can provide as much or as little personal information as they wish and are not required to give any specific information when they design their website. Those who are willing to open up more, however, are likely to be more interesting to other members and may accumulate friends very quickly on MySpace.

Searching for Friends on MySpace

The search feature can help new MySpace members to find friends in the community. The search feature allows users to enter in a particular word and provides search results which include MySpace members websites which use this word. This is an interesting way to meet potential friends on MySpace because you can enter keywords which are associated to a favorite hobby, band, book or other interest to find others who share this interest.

Those on MySpace can use the search feature to find new friends but can also use the search feature to meet find friends with whom you have lost touch over the years. Members can also search through MySpace for users with a particular name although this not always effective because users are not required to post their full name on their MySpace website. However, there are many who do include their full name so trying this search feature is worthwhile if you are looking to locate someone from your past on MySpace.

Using Caution on MySpace

With any online community, caution should be used when cultivating friendships on MySpace. The vast majority of those who use MySpace are simply looking to either make new friends or find long last friends but there are a small percentage of users who may have malicious intents. MySpace created their terms of services and makes an honest attempt to enforce these terms but this can be a difficult task on the Internet

It is important to remember that the Internet allows a certain degree of anonymity that can allow some unscrupulous individuals to mask their true identity and convince other MySpace members they are someone who they are really not. Common scenarios which may occur on the Internet include individuals obtaining enough information to steal the identity of another or individuals obtaining information such as an address which enables them to do physical harm to another member of MySpace. Those who use MySpace should be careful to ensure their private information is kept private while they are online. Information which can be used to harm them may include any combination of the following:

Full name
Place of birth
Names of children and information on when and where they were born
High school and year of graduation
Social security number
Credit card numbers
Bank account numbers

Some of the information above may seem harmless but it is important to remember devious criminals can use public resources such as newspapers and library books to find out more information about an individual.

When you are Being Harassed on MySpace

Harassment is a serious issue which the MySpace administrators take very seriously. However, the most effective method they recommend for getting those harassing you to stop is to ignore them. According to the FAQ page on MySpace 99.9% of harassment situations diffuse if harassing emails are completely ignored. You can also block users which prevents them from contacting you through MySpace and remove them from your friends list which will prevent them from adding comments. If another user has created a profile about you with malicious intent you can contact MySpace customer service and provide them with a link to the profile and they will investigate the profile and delete it if warranted.

When thinking about the history of Epiphone, one must start in Greece where Anastasios Stathopoulos made lioutos (a Greek stringed instrument), mandolins, fiddles, and lutes. The family moved to New York, and his son, Epi Stathopoulos inherited the company in 1915.

The company name changed from the House of Stathopoulos to Epiphone, a combination of his name and the Greek word for sound. The change was made official in 1928. It was during this time that the company was active in making banjos, and they even bought out a banjo company in Long Island. After the change was approved, the company became the Epiphone Banjo Co.

Epiphones guitars were launched in 1931. This was a full line of what are known as archtop guitars, a style that is popular with jazz and blues musicians. They quickly became one of the top guitar produces with Gibson being one of their biggest rivals. Notable Epiphone players of that time include Tony Mottola with the George Hall band and two band members of Benny Goodman.

Epi unfortunately died of leukemia and left the company to Orphie, who before his death was the second in command. His other brother, Frixo, became the Vice President. The two brothers later have a feud and Frixo sells his stock. After that, company had some trouble and eventually stopped producing a lot of instruments.

In 1957, Chicago Musical Instrument purchased Epiphone and made them a division of Gibson. Epiphone now still maintains their own line of guitars and the Gibson and Epiphone labels remain separate.

Current Epiphone models include a few Gibson copies (Epiphones version of the Flying-V and Les Paul are a few examples), and a few original Epiphone lines. The original guitars include all the versions of the Casino, Zephyr, and Sheraton, the Wildkat, the Broadway, and the Emporer.

Epiphone has had some famous endorsees. Both George Harrison and John Lennon played Epiphone Casinos. Lennon is famous for his personal modifications to the Casino. Other artists include Bob Marley, Noel Gallagher of Oasis, Lars Frederickson or Rancid, and Chad of Nickelback. For a complete list of artists, visit the Epiphone website . The list is quite extensive.

Here are what some uses have to say about Epiphone guitars (source Harmony Central):

About the Epiphone G-400 Custom

Action was really good. Finish was ok. Definately looks different than the rest of the pack. Gold hardware is gorgeous. The custom logo shined in the stage lights. I had to have it and I had fun with it for a few years.

This guitar is solid. Never goes out of tune. Hardware will dull a bit over the years. Strap buttons are solid. Careful with the neck dive on stage. Very top heavy.

About the Epiphone Flying Vee-Wee

I absolutely love this guitar!!! The VeeWee is the perfect shape for lap you can rest your hand on the upper arm of the V, or put it your hand in the point of the V to pick right near the bridge. The controls and cord jack are in the perfect position for lap style as well. Since it is so small and inexpensive, I carry it with me everywhere. I would not dream of bringing my Les Paul into the office, but this VeeWee is perfect for break time noodling. As I mentioned, the sound is great. I now own 5 guitars, and my lap-steel PeeVee wins the Most Fun award hands down!

It should be simple - your favourite team/band/theatre play is just about to perform in a couple of weeks. You’ve waited months for this, now you’re going to log on, book the tickets for yourself and your best buddy and bingo…you’ll be at the event of the decade for a night to remember. If only it were that easy - you have your credit card ready but the words that you dreaded flash up on your PC screen….SOLD OUT!

You try a few more ticket websites, but dismay soon blossoms into a magnificent panic as there seem to be no tickets online or through any of the usual ticket agencies. Then it strikes you…ebay…of course - should have thought of it sooner. You tap in the address, sure that you’ll be able to snap them up here. You’re right - but the bidding has gone insane and the tickets are already selling at 5 times their face value and there’s still a few days till the auction ends. No chance here, unless you suddenly win the lottery.

If this sounds at all familiar, this article will provide you with some tasty little bites of information to help you secure just about any ticket you would want to purchase. You may have noticed that some people seem to be able to get the hottest tickets around - ones that you ordinarily would have no chance of laying your hands on. Interested? Let’s get going.

First, unless you have not made the leap into the information age, let me tell you that your best chances of getting hot tickets is by having an internet connection and a little working knowledge of the Ticketmaster site. I cant help with the first but by the time you’re done here you’ll know just about all you’ll need to about Ticketmaster to become…well…a ticketmaster.

The most obvious tip is that your best chances of getting some premo tickets to that hot event you’re after is by trying to buy them within the first 5 minutes of them going on sale. Don’t put it off until later, tomorrow or next week as you wont have a prayer. If you are a frequent purchaser of tickets (or you want to make some nice cash reselling tickets on ebay) then you will want to register (free) with Ticketmaster. This way when you’re about to purchase tickets you will not waste time frantically typing in your details before the purchase procedure. If the event you want to get tickets for is not yet on sale you’ll need to know when Ticketmaster will start offering them. This is not always easy but check out the Ticketmaster alerts page while keeping up to date with the artists/teams etc website for details.

If you’re intention is to profit from reselling tickets then you must bare in mind what the maximum amount of tickets you’re allowed to purchase are. If you ignore this and try and grab more than the allocated maximum you’ll end up with nothing and that could cost you a small fortune in profits.

It also helps if your internet connection is fast - a slow connection does not exactly give you the advantage when the site opens up ticket sales. Also, ensure that you do not have too many applications running as it can slow down the speed of your PC - again, because the timing is critical you want to give yourself the maximum competitive advantage.

Here’s an interesting little fact - you would think that the best seats are the ones to go first? Well they may be offered first, but online it’s possible to get them later (eg upto half an hour after going on sale) - that’s because some buyers who get first priority to these can back out (often unwittingly as they discover there is something wrong with their credit cards). Oh and that reminds me, ensure your credit card is working perfectly before trying to get those hot tickets.

Now some advice for the profit-hunters among you. Reselling tickets can be a very good, exciting and relatively easy way of making a significant amount of extra money. If you do this, there is one key thing you need to know - how likely is it that a particular event will be sold out. With a little bit of knowledge and research you can pinpoint several events every week that are likely to be total sell outs - using the information you have just read you can purchase tickets to them and then profit from them till the cows come home. To state the obvious, eBay is the best place to sell the tickets you’ve obtained - you’re almost certain to have a huge amount of interested buyers. Like most things it takes a little bit of effort to get started but this is a good and honest way of making some extra money each week. I needn’t tell you that many are doing this full time for a living - I’ll let you discover the possibilities yourself.

Well, hopefully the last few minutes have been highly interesting and useful for you. I wish you all the best, whether you wish to get hold of the best tickets to the hottest events for your own profit or pleasure!

Rockin All Over the World

Posted on: 5, Dec

Rockin’ all over the world?

It would seem that Status Quo were right with their number two hit from yester year and we really are rockin all over the world. Why do I say this well I have instigated an online based survey to compile the all time greatest ever rock bands and artists and to date there has been a large response from counties all over the world. Counties that have taken part so far are Scotland, England, Ireland, Wales, Spain, Germany, Italy, Finland, New Zeeland, Norway, Serbia-Belgrade, Slovenia, Denmark the Czech Republic, Poland, USA, Canada, and Latvia. Of the counties from where nominations have come from the USA would seem to be the most rockin with the most nominations coming from there. So onto the survey itself. It has been running for just over a month so far and is set to run for at least one year which would mean it would end 15/09/07. I say it will run for at least a year as it does need to have an end date however to be THE definitive list of the all time greatest it would of course have to run indefinitely, unless the world was also to end on 15/09/07. If this is indeed the date for the end of the world please do not blame me it is just a coisadince.
The survey and the results so far can be found online at www.clik.to/rockgods. There is also a news page at the website to keep visitors informed of the week to week goings on with the voting. Currently the front runner for all time greatest bands is Iron Maiden, a very popular choice with the fans all over the world. Not only are Maiden top of the best band category but front man Bruce Dickinson tops the singer category, Bassist Steve Harris tops the Bass play category, and both guitarists are currently in the top 10 of their category. Also as you might have guessed current drummer Nicko McBrain is in the top ten of the drummers category and just to emphasise Maidens dominance in the voting even further X drummer Clive Burr is also amongst the top few nominations. Now certainly there is a long way to go yet and no doubt lots more votes to be taken but who can pip the mighty Maiden to the top spots? Will the Irons be rockin all over the world, only time will tell.

Does anyone know of a good maternity clothing website in Canada? I am looking for a bella band at the moment but i live in a small town which does not have much for options of maternity clothing. i am hoping to find a good website that i might be able to buy most of my maternity wear from.

I live in Canada as well and have been shopping around for some better deals. I would say Ebay is a great place for some maternity items (especially if you buy what’s call lot items, multiple pieces you can save on shipping costs) they also sell the bella bands.
You can also try some American websites like target.com their prices are really good even with the exchange and shipping. Motherhood maternity is another great store. :)
congrats!
